About the series:

Nostalgia has a way of transporting us back to a time unblemished by the hardships of the present. The gentle hum of childhood laughter echoing through our minds, the familiar scent of a loved one's embrace, and the warmth of cherished memories, long dormant, stirs in us. In that precious space of wistfulness, we find ourselves truly grasping the essence of our experiences, treasuring the beauty that was. We ponder the profound impact our past has on the person we've become today. Nostalgia is bitter-sweet. These are the moments that I find myself chasing after.

The quiet, mundane moments of life’s in-betweens. These moments are something real.

Here’s to catching feelings.

Raindrops on window pane — The wail of the sirens pierces the night yet again. I haven’t had a single quiet night’s sleep ever since moving to downtown. A close proximity to the “ground zero” of a rampant drug and mental health crisis that the city is dealing with, I lie awake staring at the ceiling as the sirens reverberates below me for the 5th time tonight. The pitter patter of raindrops on my window pane dampens the audio onslaught. I framed the first raindrops of fall against the neon city lights and made the best of the sleepless night ahead.

Ball at dusk — As the nippy cold of spring gives way into summer, humans and animals alike come out from hibernation eager to leave the behind. the days stretch as long as the sun stays up past 9 at night. we rekindle and forge a stronger bond in our relationships that were lost to the winter.

1960s Brutalism Architecture — Step back in time to the daring and distinctive world of 1960s Brutalism Architecture. A time when concrete soared to new heights, forming imposing structures that boldly declared their presence. The era was marked by a raw and honest approach to design, where the essence of the material was laid bare for all to see. But beyond the concrete and steel, there's a nostalgic charm in the memories of exploring these structures. The echo of footsteps in cavernous halls, the interplay of light and shadow on rugged surfaces, and the distinctive blend of austerity and warmth in the interiors all evoke a sense of nostalgia. These buildings were more than just concrete giants; they were spaces where lives unfolded, ideas were exchanged, and communities thrived.

GOLD IN CHINATOWN - The air is filled with the melodies of bustling vendors and the soft splashes of water. This is Chinatown, a small swath of what remains from the 70s. Shopping for aquatic creatures in all their resplendent colors and elegant movements, evoke memories of the bygone 80s. Vendors shuffle about in singlets and shorts, sometimes with a cigarette and a kopi (coffee) chat you up, trading stories for anyone with time to spare.
