A Dreamy & Sun-soaked 2-Part Wedding in Bali

“Are you available to shoot our wedding happening in a month’s time?”

We received a text, seemingly out of the blue from Stella and Edmund.

“Oh, by the way, we are holding the wedding twice; first in Singapore, then again in Uluwatu, Bali.

It took a while for us to retrace the origin of the conversation before we could figure out that Stella and Edmund were friends of a friend of ours. It’s true that in the small world of wedding photography, word gets around fast.

The couple were planning for their destination wedding nuptials in Bali, and an extended circle of relatives and friends were on the guest list. This requires that precision planning to accommodate everyone. And so, the plan of a 2-part wedding began to hatch, with the first part held in Singapore, and subsequently, in Bali after.

Stella and Edmund, both easy going and laid back, soon found themselves bombarded with a vast array of choices. Before the wedding is through, there will be vendors to be hired and locations to be finalised. Getting married in the 21st century is a task of epic proportions. With this backdrop in mind, we were excited to bits that they entrusted us with executing visuals for their happily-ever-after.

Being invited to play an important role in their big day, alongside people who are part of our close knit circle of friends, made the occasion especially memorable for us too.

The picturesque backdrop of the open ocean on top of a cliff adds an undeniable element of majesty to the special day.

Faced with the choice of either hosting the dinner reception indoors or outdoors, the couple decided to go with the intimate settings inside the chapel. Lighted bulbs hanging down from the ceiling and a giant cloth to add depth and texture, the venue glows with warmth as the sun sets outside on the horizon.

Name cards are laid out meticulously as a thoughtful gesture for guests to easily identify their seats.

The evening wore on, as speeches were made and wines were drunk. As the sun dipped beneath the ocean, the cool night air emerged to the smiles of happy guests, family, and friends. And this is where we give our best wishes to the joyous couple as they soak in the experience of their first of many embraces to come, as Husband and Wife.

Congratulations Stella & Edmund!
