A Christmas Brunch: 7 Deadly Sins
Tis the Season…
According to Christian tradition the seven deadly sins are: envy, gluttony, greed or avarice, lust, pride, sloth, and wrath. I am spending this Christmas Day indulging in 2 out of those 7 sins.
GLUTTONY AND SLOTH.
Earlier on, I have made up my mind to stuff my face with good food, indulge in good company and crash out the day being an absolute sloth.
Tis the season to also be reflective. This year especially, we are specially conscious of the passage of time and how everything seem fast and fleeting. The thing about time as you get older is that it is such a precious commodity. It is always at the back of my mind. All the time, I’m thinking about if there is a better way to spend my time.
Not today. Today, we feast.
So begins a glorious mid-day nap right after a lovely lunch of coffee, pancakes and waffles from the comfort of home. One thing that growing older comes with is the lower tolerance to rowdiness and crowds. This year, we’re staying in and bingeing on all the comforts of home afforded to HDB apartment owners like us. We might as well partake in the Singapore Dream. If there ever was one, today seems pretty close.
